The 1st General Assembly of the Social Development Hub will take place, featuring a SWOT workshop on the challenges facing CSOs.

First General Assembly of the Social Development Hub (SDH), bringing together more than 20 national experts in the areas of human development, social rights, youth, sustainability and innovation.

The highlight of the meeting was the holding of a SWOT workshop (Analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), in which participants reflected on the current situation of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the country. With a critical and collaborative spirit, several structural gaps were identified that hinder the sustainable advancement of CSOs, such as difficulty in accessing funding, the absence of consistent public support policies, and a lack of spaces for training and sharing.

On the other hand, several things emerged clearly. opportunities for transformationThe growing mobilization of youth, international interest in social impact projects, the potential for strategic partnerships, and digitalization as a tool for inclusion and empowerment.

This meeting was not just a space for diagnosis and reflection — it was also the official founding act of the Social Development HubSDH was born as a collaborative network of engaged NGOs, with the mission of joining forces, fostering synergies and learning from the best examples, both in Cape Verde and in the Portuguese-speaking world and beyond.

In a country where the role of civil society is increasingly essential for collective progress, the creation of the SDH represents a clear commitment to it. organization, professionalization and social impact of organizations that work for the common good.
