PT The projects, Kumunidadi Fest - by Associação Cultural e Desportiva Maracanã (Comunidade365); Serralharia Gazim, by Olgard Lima (Ecolead); Magic of Borcel Dreams, by Andreia Monteiro (Impactar); e Kasa Cimboa, by Amaro Varela (ArtCultura Nexus)were the big winners of the final pitch session of the Kumunidadi Summit 2025, receiving the prize of the TUI Care Foundation.
The first edition of the Kumunidadi Summit, held on 5 and 6 December at Banco de Cabo Verde, marked a historic moment for the Cape Verdean social sector, bringing together 25 social impact projects from the Comunidade365 (7), Nexus - Arte e Cultura (7), Ecolead (5) and Impactar (6) programmes.
For two intense days, the event was transformed into a true space for social innovation, offering..:
- Social Investment Fair, with an exhibition of projects and funding opportunities;
- Thematic workshops focused on governance, sustainability and first steps for social organisations;
- Solutions labswhere participating promoters worked on real challenges with experts;
- Pitch sessionswhich gave national visibility to new social entrepreneurs;
- International keynoteswith Karina Tavares (NUMA Paris/Expo Favela Innovation, Elma Paulauskaite, (Policy Impact Lab) and Rui Vieira from Sport Evolution Allince, global experts in social impact;
- The High-Level PanelsThese debates mobilised public institutions, universities and civil society in debates on: "Building a National Strategy to Strengthen the Third Sector in Cape Verde" and "The University as an Agent of Change".
- Launch of the Funding Opportunities Guide Civil Society Organisations
- Celebrating International Volunteer DayThe event was organised by the Rede de Associações Comunitárias e Manifestações Sociais (Network of Community Associations and Social Demonstrations) with a talk on the volunteer system in Cape Verde.
