PT On January 27th, the president of the Social Development Hub (SDH), Susana Duarte, signed a cooperation protocol with the Platform of Non-Governmental Organizations, with its president, Felisberto Moreira, during the inauguration ceremony of the SDH headquarters.
The protocol aims to reinforce sustainable development and strengthen civil society organizations in Cape Verde through activities such as the Kumunidadi Summit, an annual event dedicated to the Cape Verdean social ecosystem. The NGO Platform will have its own institutional space, participate in defining strategic themes, and mobilize its associated organizations at this event, which promotes multi-sectoral dialogue, the sharing of best practices, social innovation, and visibility for NGO projects and initiatives.
Felisberto Moreira, president of the Platform of Non-Governmental Organizations, stated that the signing of the protocol symbolizes a commitment to collaboration between the two institutions for the progress of Cape Verdean society.
“It is essential that, starting today, we truly begin to act, putting into practice concrete measures to develop an operational plan with well-defined goals and objectives, so that, within a year, we can see that the signing of this protocol has brought positive results,” he emphasized, reinforcing the importance of the State continuing to view civil society in a differentiated manner.
“The NGO Platform is an organization of enormous importance in representing the third sector; committing to working together means having the vision to create a stronger and more empowered social sector to face future challenges,” stated Susana Duarte.
The agreement establishes a framework for strategic collaboration between the two entities, focused on the institutional capacity building of NGOs, the development of joint projects, the promotion of social innovation, and the strengthening of the visibility and impact of social organizations in the country.
