Filomena Fortes holds a PhD in Educational Sciences and is the President of the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee, President of ACOLOP – the Association of Olympic Committees of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, the first permanent member of Cape Verde on the International Olympic Committee, and 2nd Vice-President of ANOCA – the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa. Throughout her career, she has promoted sport as a powerful tool for social impact, inclusion, and empowerment. Filomena Fortes embodies the role of Leadership and Empowerment.
