{"id":288,"date":"2024-10-13T09:15:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-13T10:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/socialdevelopmenthub.org\/?p=288"},"modified":"2025-07-13T09:19:07","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T10:19:07","slug":"hoje-marca-um-novo-capitulo-para-a-sociedade-civil-cabo-verdiana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/socialdevelopmenthub.org\/en\/2024\/10\/13\/hoje-marca-um-novo-capitulo-para-a-sociedade-civil-cabo-verdiana\/","title":{"rendered":"Today marks a new chapter for Cape Verdean civil society."},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The 1st General Assembly of the Social Development Hub will take place, featuring a SWOT workshop on the challenges facing CSOs.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, <strong>October 12, 2024<\/strong>This morning marks a historic moment for the non-profit organization movement in Cape Verde. <strong>First General Assembly of the Social Development Hub (SDH)<\/strong>, bringing together more than <strong>20 national experts<\/strong> in the areas of human development, social rights, youth, sustainability and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The highlight of the meeting was the holding of a <strong>SWOT workshop<\/strong> (Analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), in which participants reflected on the current situation of <strong>Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)<\/strong> in the country. With a critical and collaborative spirit, several structural gaps were identified that hinder the sustainable advancement of CSOs, such as difficulty in accessing funding, the absence of consistent public support policies, and a lack of spaces for training and sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"461\" src=\"https:\/\/socialdevelopmenthub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ag-SDH-2-1024x461.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/socialdevelopmenthub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ag-SDH-2-1024x461.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/socialdevelopmenthub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ag-SDH-2-300x135.jpg 300w, https:\/\/socialdevelopmenthub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ag-SDH-2-768x346.jpg 768w, https:\/\/socialdevelopmenthub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ag-SDH-2-1536x692.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/socialdevelopmenthub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ag-SDH-2-2048x922.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, several things emerged clearly. <strong>opportunities for transformation<\/strong>The growing mobilization of youth, international interest in social impact projects, the potential for strategic partnerships, and digitalization as a tool for inclusion and empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This meeting was not just a space for diagnosis and reflection \u2014 it was also the <strong>official founding act of the Social Development Hub<\/strong>SDH was born as a <strong>collaborative network of engaged NGOs<\/strong>, with the mission of joining forces, fostering synergies and learning from the best examples, both in Cape Verde and in the Portuguese-speaking world and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a country where the role of civil society is increasingly essential for collective progress, the creation of the SDH represents a clear commitment to it. <strong>organization, professionalization and social impact<\/strong> of organizations that work for the common good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#039;re just getting started \u2014 but we&#039;re sure that <strong>We&#039;ll go far.<\/strong>And today we took the first step.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Realiza-se a 1.\u00aa Assembleia Geral da Social Development Hub com workshop SWOT sobre os desafios das OSC Hoje, 12 de outubro de 2024, assinala-se um momento hist\u00f3rico para o movimento das organiza\u00e7\u00f5es sem fins lucrativos em Cabo Verde.
