A\u00a0Social Development Hub (SDH), representative of the Central \u00danica das Favelas in Cape Verde,<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the six partner organisations of the international project\u00a0\"Safebook Horizons - New Methodologies in Youth Work\"<\/strong>funded by\u00a0European Commission through the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA)<\/strong>under the programme\u00a0Erasmus+ Youth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project, coordinated by\u00a0Klub za Osna\u017eivanje Mladih 018 (KOM 018)<\/strong>\u00a0from Serbia, brings together organisations from\u00a0Italy (Beyond Borders)<\/strong>,\u00a0Bulgaria (YES)<\/strong>,\u00a0South Africa (CUFA SA)<\/strong>,\u00a0Tanzania (Safe Island for Women and Children - SIWaC and CUFA Tanzania representative)<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0Cape Verde (Social Development Hub - SDH and representative of CUFA Cape Verde)<\/strong>. With a duration of\u00a030 months<\/strong>The initiative aims to strengthen\u00a0safety culture among young people<\/strong>\u00a0through new youth work methodologies and the development of a new edition of the manual\u00a0\"Safebook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O Safebook Horizons<\/strong> addresses six essential dimensions of youth safety and well-being: peer violence, cyberbullying, discrimination, substance abuse, mental health and reproductive health<\/strong>. The aim is to create an informal network of youth workers and educators<\/strong> Europeans and Africans, empowering them with new pedagogical and visual tools (such as photography and graphic design) to promote the safety and inclusion of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\u00a0Cape Verde<\/strong>, a\u00a0Social Development Hub<\/strong>\u00a0and CUFA Cabo Verde will be responsible for\u00a0adapting and contextualising the Safebook methodologies to the Cape Verdean reality<\/strong>promoting actions to\u00a0training educators and young people<\/strong>,\u00a0community awareness<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0international exchange<\/strong>. The SDH's role will also be to\u00a0Articulate the participation of schools, youth associations and local organisations<\/strong>ensuring that the principles of the project are translated into sustainable practices of\u00a0citizenship education, violence prevention and mental health promotion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"This project represents a milestone in cooperation between Europe and Africa in the field of youth. Cape Verde will play an important role in the cultural and social adaptation of these methodologies, contributing to safer, empowered and more aware youth communities,\" said the president of the local organisations, Susana Duarte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O\u00a0Safebook Horizons<\/strong>\u00a0reinforces the commitment of the SDH and CUFA Cape Verde to\u00a0strengthening local capacities<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0fostering transformative young leaders<\/strong>in line with the\u00a0Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>\u00a0of the United Nations, in particular SDG 3 (Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
